Donkey Kong Country
is a video_game developed by Rare and Nintendo, featuring the popular arcade character, Donkey_Kong. It was released for the Super_Nintendo and Super_Famicom in 1994. The game was released in Japan under the title ''Super Donkey Kong''. In this game, Donkey Kong and his friend, Diddy_Kong, have to recover Donkey Kong's stolen horde of bananas from King_K_Rool. Other characters include Candy Kong, Funky Kong, and Cranky Kong (who happens to be the original Donkey Kong and the father or grandfather of the current Donkey Kong). The game was revolutionary for the fact that it was the first pre-rendered 3D game for a home video game console. It was a technique that would be used again in Killer_Instinct. Many later 3D video games would also use pre-rendered 3D together with fully 3D objects. Two sequels, Donkey_Kong_Country_2 and Donkey_Kong_Country_3, were later made. All three games were also released on the Nintendo Game_Boy and Super_Game_Boy. In 1999 a Nintendo_64 game was also released, Donkey_Kong_64. This title featured a playable, hidden version of the original 1981 title. In 2000 a port of Donkey Kong Country for the Game_Boy_Colour was released, one of the new features included was the Game_Boy_Printer compatibility. In 2003 another port of the game was released for the Game_Boy_Advance.See also
